Children & Youth

For March and April of 2008 Kids Club will be the first Sunday of the month.

Nursery Care
Nursery Care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers is provided upstairs in the Nursery every Sunday thanks to Irene Papagrigoris who brings 25 years of experience caring for children.

Sunday School
This year’s Sunday School program will follow a similar format to last year, with Kids Corner three Sundays a month and Kids Club on the last Sunday of each month. Kids Corner is a space in the sanctuary where children can do crafts, read, or play quietly during the service. Kids Club is a program where children leave the sanctuary to participate in activities in the downstairs hall during the worship service. This year we will be using games, crafts, stories, songs, drama and dance to explore questions and ideas about faith and God. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in both Kids Club and Kids Corner. Please contact Annie Casson (650-1522) if you have any questions!

Youth United

Youth United is a unique and diverse group composed of youth and young adults from Chalmers, Sydenham Street and Queen’s Street United Churches. Together, we discover and explore our faith through popular media, discussions, outings, and, of course, food. Our youth group presents a great opportunity to meet new people and to get to know the church community a little better. Youth United is open to all youth (grade 6 and up) and young adults. Friends of the youth are always welcome to attend.
Youth United also has an important youth Outreach component. Our group has been contributing to our Youth Outreach Fund over the past three years with our Christmas, Easter and Mother’s Day almond bark sales, as well as with our Easter Basket silent auction and ‘Photographs of Kingston’ sale. Recently, we were able to provide an orphanage in China, in which our leader Brianne Lewis volunteered in, with 18 wrist watches for the children and a DVD player on which to play educational programs. We have learnt about the conditions in the orphanage, and how our Youth United contribution will make a difference in the lives of the children who live there. We have also discussed the possibility of contributing to the Bay of Quinte Conference You to Youth Tanzanian AIDS Project, and to the Grandmother Connection caring for grandchildren of AIDS afflicted Africa. Thank you to all three church congregations for their generous support of our youth projects.
