Sydenham Street United Church, constructed in 1852, is a downtown church
and city landmark. Located in historic Kingston, Ontario, we are a part of the
United Church of Canada. The congregation, founded in 1811, was one of the
first Methodist congregations in Upper Canada.
The work of the congregation is undertaken through a committee system and
regular quarterly congregational meetings. Outreach is a high priority both in
volunteer time and financial support.
As an Affirming Congregation
we seek to be a vital faith community within the United Church of Canada
engaged in spirituality, justice and creativity,
iformed by Jesus Christ and the Bible,
and discerning the call of the Trinity
as we celebrate diversity, inclusivity and abundant life.
